Thing 3

I like social media in that I can keep in touch. It seems to be time consuming and i am already so busy. But, it is so nice to stay connected.
THe sites are changing the way we communicate in that we are tuned into a large number of people and the communication is immediate. THe positive thing about sites is being connected. The negative side is the time element. Social sites effect the way we learn by word of mouth in passing info and connecting with others thoughts. I could use in the classroom much like blogging.

Thing 2

2.O was overwhelming to me!!!! I like technology but love to hold a book in my hand. My frustration with all of this is the lack of technology at the high school. Some of my best and brightest DO NOT have computer access at home and Smithville is a rural school in that so many do not have cars and ride buses. I already use as much as I can in the classroom by means of my Smartboard. However, individual student usage of computers is difficult because they are simply not availible.
I like that fact that its more than looking up information. Its more of analyzing the information out there and then synthesing the information.

THing 1- ideas on how to use blogs in the classroom.

I like the journaling aspect. Not sure how to implement but I am willing. I am feeling very overwhelmed.

Thing 1- writing for all to see.

I am not too concerned about this in that I have maintained my webpage for about a year and interacted with many parents. I supposed that I feel a bit unimportant. How many out there will actually read it??

Overwelming but fun.... so much information out there. Exiting but scary.

THING 1 - insights

I feel techolically inept!!!!!! I am fearful about time. It already seems that i do not have enough time. Can a blog save time??? I am intriged.

THING 1 WHY???

I chose to participate in 8 things to be a team player and to build confidence as a "older person" in the student's keys. I am afriad of technology at times and feel so out of the loop. I am trying to climb out of my comfort zone.
